The bumblebees and the butterflies love Joe Pye. A spider has made a home between an Alternanthera and a Coleus. It is fascinating to observe their behavior.

As there is little joy in photographing plants these days, I am in pursuit of the butterflies. The yellow Swallowtail is everywhere, every day; the black one is less conspicuous, but visits too, from time to time. I did not see any today. Or, I did not stay out in this heat long enough to see one!

The Caterpillars Have Arrived!

Soon, there will be Swallowtail butterflies in my garden again. The first caterpillars are already gorging themselves on the dill and parsley I have planted to welcome them.
