I gave up tulips here farther south where they're unreliable, but do love the dark ones. Queen of Night performed well for me, when properly chilled and encouraged.
When spring comes, you might want to grow 'Black Magic' colocasia if you haven't tried it, one of my favs.
My next door neighbor has 'Black Magic' Colocasia in front of her house; gorgeous, but the summer heat is often too much for them. I'm going to see what these tulips will do for me before I add anything else. It's great fun to try new plants.
